After we held the well attended and very positive Open Evening at Home Farm in September, we’ve been hard at work setting up our new Community Interest Company and putting together our bid for funding to The National Lottery Community Fund (LCF).

Our bid went in in early January 2024 and the NLCF have 12 weeks to let us know if we were successful.

We are keeping our fingers firmly crossed and looking forward to hearing from them.

In the meantime we’ve been interviewing architects who would bring our vision into life, by designing and gaining the approvals for the conversion work.

We’re getting very excited about the activities and events which we could have at our barns.

As well as the normal village events , we have already had expressions of interest from performance companies and for creative writing classes.

We are delighted to see that our one of neighbouring barns, the Calf Linhay, has been occupied by The Gardeners Company CIC.

Having been inspiring families to get growing across North Devon for the past 18 months, The Gardeners Co. CIC (formerly The Mini Gardeners Club CIC) are looking forward to working with Arlington Court National Trust to build a community-style garden in the calf linney at Home Farm.

You can find out more about this via the North Devon Gazette

Our bid to the National Lottery Community Fund was submitted early January 2024.

We would like to convert an unused barn on National Trust land in Arlington North Devon to create a community hub for the people of Arlington so that we can meet, know and support one another.

We want our community barn space as a hub for a range of regular events to support and engage the local community.
